Aaron, Dad and Micah at Christmas 2009
When I think back over the years I realize how fortunate I have been. Not only did I have a father who was the absolute best---- I married into a family and gained another "father" who became one of my best friends over time. I am sure he wondered about me in the beginning (and maybe still does a little bit!!) but he never showed me anything but support and respect and encouragement. He is the ultimate care giver---maybe that is why I identify with him so much. He has always has a servant heart and has shown that over the years by caring not only for his own mother and father, but his father in law, wife and most recently several friends who needed a helping hand. To me that is one of his most admirable qualities. He always cares and does what he can to help others.
This is a man who has not had an easy time of it----surgeries, treatments and ongoing health concerns are a part of his daily life yet he continues to plug away at life---putting one foot in front of the other each day and smiling through it all. He is an example to me and others of just how strong a person can be ---that strength comes from deep within and is something that I have always witnessed in his life. Even when he does not feel at the top of his game he is still showing his concern and compassion with others.
So on this very special day I wish this very special man a very special birthday! I love you, Dad, and am so blessed to be a part of your life. You took my kitties in when they needed a home, have given me love and support just when I needed it, been there for Chris and the boys and I time and time again and continue to be an inspiration to all of us. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you!

Beth---My own dad died about 16 years ago so I think that is another reason why I love my father in law so much! Thanks for the kind comments! Hope you have a fabulous weekend yourself!!!
