Chris took a "field trip" to go see the Burdekin dam and brought me back some pretty cool pictures to post here. Because of all of the rain we have had it is in flood stage right now and is a pretty spectacular thing to see. The Burdekin River is one of the larger rivers in Australia---probably as large as the Ohio River near Beaver, Pennsylvania but not as big as the Ohio is in Ohio. Does that make sense??? Anyway---Chris was thrilled by the trip and also saw emus in the wild, free ranging cattle who just wander across the road willy nilly and some kangaroos hopping up rocks so he had a full day of fun!!!
