Baby It's Cold Outside!!!

I filled the feeders up yesterday but the poor birdies can't get to it!
A small wall of snow by the front door...

Funny thought today---a year ago I was sweating and complaining that the house that we were renting did not have air con in it!!! Today as the weatherman just reported that it is 1 degree outside and about -27 degrees with the wind chill I am bundled up in my cozy warm house with the gas fireplace going!!! What a difference a year makes!

We have ridden out the blizzard and I think we will survive. Looks like we only got about 11 1/2 inches of snow to add to the couple of inches we already had. The wind was horrific all night and most of the day and so the snow has drifted all over the place creating some pretty exotic snow art!!! I opened the front door to see how much there was and was greeted with a wall of snow---only about a foot or so there so it wasn't bad. The good thing is that the driveway is really almost clear without the aid of the snowplow dude. The wind is good for something after all. Never mind that the end of the driveway has a pretty nice wall of snow from the city snow plow---we will deal with that in the morning.

I don't mind a snow day now and then---it is nice to have the hubby working from home and to just be able to sit around and read and do some Christmas baking. I am happy to let everyone else go out in this and slide around. I did shovel a path from the front door to the garage but that was the extent of it and a good portion of it has blown shut again. Tomorrow is another day!!!

So the lesson learned today ----be content in all circumstances. Whether it is heat, humidity, rain, snow, sleet or wind----it will pass. And tomorrow is a new day. Not a hard lesson to learn.
